Hello to all Friends of Mornington Railway Reserve (FoMRR) – we are pleased to advise the commencement of working bees for 2025!
Charlie Clarke (Coordinator) has already kicked off the season with mowing at several important sites along the railway reserve:
Mowing may seem to be a strange thing to do but it actually replicates the grazing and browsing that would naturally have been done by wallabies and kangaroos. The problem with excess biomass is that it can smother plants and prevent the germination of seeds.
