Mornington Shire Waste Management Team are now spot checking recycling bins for contamination and awarding gold stars or oops signs accordingly. Between 10% and 20% of recycling bins are still contaminated.
Plastic bags and styrofoam DO NOT go in recycling bin. They are contaminants.
Plastic bags should go into the receptacles for soft plastics outside supermarkets
Styrofoam / polystyrene should go into the general rubbish bin.
