The Victorian Renewable Energy Terminal:
Draft scoping requirements now open for public comment
Have your say on the draft scoping requirements for the Victorian Renewable Energy Terminal
The Department of Transport and Planning is inviting public comment on the draft scoping requirements for the Victorian Renewable Energy Terminal Environment Effects Statement (EES).
The Port of Hastings has been selected by the Victorian Government as the preferred location for the establishment of the Victorian Renewable Energy Terminal. The Terminal would be a dedicated primary assembly port, designed to provide offshore wind port capacity for both wind turbine and foundation components.
The Terminal is proposed to be developed at the Old Tyabb Reclamation Area (OTRA), and the adjacent marine waters within the Port of Hastings precinct.
The Victorian Minister for Planning has determined an EES is required to assess the project under the Environment Effects Act 1978. The draft scoping requirements, prepared by the Department of Transport and Planning (DTP), outline the matters to be investigated and documented in an EES.
How to get involved
Review the draft scoping requirements and provide your feedback by midnight, 11 December 2024.
