August Working Bee at Mills Beach

It was fantastic to be back today!

We had a new member, Jacob, join us and together with Jan, Anne, Maddie and I we tackled the weeds down the Bath Street path, mainly focusing on the lower end. We managed to clear out, Bridal Creeper, Cape Ivy, Climbing Groundsel, Panic Veldt-grass, and Common Sow-thistle.

Jan suggested that we could add a few plants—maybe Poas, or some indigenous grasses and Banksia (in the old Banksia stump)—at the end of the path on the beach next to the Boatshed (see the pic).

For our next working bee, we’re thinking of focusing on weeding the bluff along the Esplanade side and checking the plants we put in a few months ago.

Thanks for that report Sally, it’s great to have you back out in the field again.
