Mornington Shire Council has still not decided on the route of the proposed Mornington to Moorooduc shared path which would link Mornington to the existing Moorooduc to Frankston trail. $.5 million has been allocated to further consult as to an acceptable route acceptable.
The initial plan to follow the railway line has to be balanced with the preservation of rare plants which are in the railway reserve.
$2 million funding has been allocated by the Federal Government for the construction The Baxter to Somerville part of the Peninsula Trail.
