URGENT – Stop the Great Wall of Frankston

URGENT – Stop the Great Wall of Frankston

From the MEA president (12/12/23)…

Stop the Great Wall of Frankston

Dear MEA members and supporters,
Please make a brief submission to Frankston Council, by Mon Dec 18th – objecting to their changing planning to allow massive high-rise on the waterfront, blocking the rest of the city from bay/sky views and overshadowing Kananook creek, beach and Long Island residents. It would create an eye-sore from all around the Bay.

“Have your say on the proposed planning changes (Amendment C160fran) to the Frankston Metropolitan Activity Centre (FMAC) – submissions due 18 December 2023.
Thank you to all of you that have reached out to us for information or assistance in understanding what this proposed amendment means. It’s imperative now we focus on these very significant proposed changes and do what we can, while we still have a say and can make a difference. We encourage you to include personal details and how this will affect you but all you need to say is:
I wish to register my objection to the proposed Amendment C160fran, particularly the excessive preferred building heights for Precinct 4 with its close proximity to the foreshore, and to the lack of mandatory controls to protect the sensitive coastal environment, Kananook Creek and significant views and vistas.
I am seeking changes to the proposed amendment to address these areas of concern and thank you for your consideration of these matters.
Your name and address.
Additionally, you can include “I also object to the denial of the democratic rights for myself and others to have a say about future developments within the proposed Activity Centre Zone.”
Email submissions to strategicplanning@frankston.vic.gov.auwith “Submission to Planning Scheme Amendment C160fran” in the subject line and bcc stopthegreatwall@gmail.com.
Please note from council instructions “in order for us to consider your submission you must provide us with your name, address and contact details.”
Have your say in these major changes that are proposed for this unique coastal city.
Please share this post so others can also have their say. Every voice counts. Thank you.”
